‘To the Moon and Back' is a witty riff on life in the 20th century from contemporary pop and graffiti artist Yuvi. Released as a glazed circular box canvas with a diameter of 32” in an edition size of 150, it brings together a cast of the 20th
century’s best loved characters to pay homage to a rich period of our cultural history. Elvis and Marilyn rub shoulders with the Beatles and Bowie, and at the heart of the piece is a paintbrush-wielding astronaut, standing astride one of Andy Warhol’s iconic Campbell’s Soup tins. Although this colourful piece celebrates a decade of exploration and progress, Yuvi has chosen a title which recalls the phrase ‘I love you to the moon and back’, giving it an additional resonance as a tribute to love - which can be as boundless as space itself.
