In this engaging piece of animal magic, award-winning British artist Doug Hyde uses his own Cotswold smallholding as inspiration. A bright blue tractor with red wheels becomes the perfect stage for his merry menagerie, which comprises two dogs, a cat and mouse, a goose, a sheep, a rabbit, and even a hedgehog – between them representing forest, field and farmyard. Clinging on for dear life, they career across a golden field that looks ready for mowing under a cerulean sky, clearly enjoying their big adventure. ‘Joyride’ would make a fabulous centrepiece artwork, especially for a farmhouse kitchen or family room.
