Pop art meets, well, popcorn art, in this witty and whimsical homage to Roy Lichtenstein from contemporary British artist Doug Hyde. It depicts a traditional red and white striped American popcorn cup, filled to the brim and hiding one of Hyde’s signature characters, while a small black dog stands below with his paws full of delicious treats. Front and centre is the word ‘Pop’ in Lichtenstein’s classic explosive speech bubble effect - a neat and sophisticated visual joke.
